CrossFit Level 2 Certification. SUNY Oswego Alum / B.A. in Psychology
My turning point occurred after college. No one was there to tell me to "go to practice", "go for a run" or "go to the gym". As we become more independent, we may have to be our own motivator and also recognize if the path we're heading down is a dangerous one and to pull the e-brake and turn around... fast! I knew I always had a passion for fitness and coming from a family of teachers, fell in love with coaching and training. My first job in a gym 8 years ago wasn't anything to write home about but I made incredible bonds and had mentors that made lifelong lasting impressions on me. From there, I was hooked. There isn't a day that goes by where fitness isn't a part of my life and I wouldn't want it any other way!
Motivation & Passion
I coach because I love to teach and I love to learn. What I've learned from the members has really shaped who I am as a coach today. Yes we can take seminars and courses and have a laundry list of acronyms after our names, but I am strong believer that there is just as much value in the experiences gained with working your members. We learn to be empathetic, to be a motivator, to be a professional and most importantly, to be that person your members trust to help them be the best versions of themselves. This is fun and it is hard, but CrossFit provides the strength of community to help us through our toughest (and proudest!) moments.
